As a proud FDNY Fire Captain, Certified Herbologist, and trained Mycologist, The Captain aka RJ, brings a rare fusion of bravery, science, and soul to the wellness world. Decades of service in one of the most demanding professions gave
Captain RJ a firsthand view into the toll that trauma, anxiety, and burnout can take on the human mind and body. Through this lens, he developed a deep respect for the healing powers of nature especially the profound benefits of mushrooms and nootropic botanicals. Fueled by a passion for plant medicine and a mission to help others reclaim their mental clarity and inner peace, RJ founded Captain Shroomz™: A first-of-its-kind medicinal nootropics brand born at the intersection of science, healing, and service.

Empowering through the numbers
I’ve been on the job for over a decade, and let me tell you this work stays with you. The adrenaline, the trauma, the constant alertness... it wears you down, even if you don’t want to admit it. Sleep was tough. Focus came in waves. And I was relying on caffeine way more than I should’ve.
